Unity, Competence & Strategic Continuity – The ONLY Viable Future For Democratic Government

Background & Mission
During and since the Thatcher Era of the 1980’s, the opposing economic ideologies of market-driven Capitalism (promoted by business) and of welfare-driven Socialism (promoted by the Trade Unions) polarised to the extent that promoting their shift- or preventing it – became the central focus and motivation of government. Our politicians intent, above all things, on “proving” their own viewpoints to promote their own careers.
This inward-facing government stance – driven by power-focussed adversarial politics, has led to the almost total neglect of the things of vital importance to the People. Hence the socioeconomic decline we are now all too familiar with. Our infrastructures, healthcare, justice system and other public services no longer fit for purpose, Concepts of social responsibility in constant decline as shop thefts, etc. escalate and uncontrolled illegal immigration threatens the safety of our streets and traditional way of life.
The UK is therefore now faced with a huge challenge to recover from some 40 years of decline driven by inward-facing politics. A structure originally designed to provide the necessary government knowledge and “checks & balances” – but now not only failing so to do, but actually becoming the undemocratic root-cause of our problems. A narrow elite with carte-blanche to impose whatever policy it chooses (via an unchallengeable MP majority) and “The Lords” mainly an expensive, insufficiently-informed advisory body.
Unified Democracy is based on the principle that, after 40 years of directionless government, such a recovery cannot realistically be achieved under our current outdated system. That a society where most oppose the policies of the Government they themselves elected is no longer socioeconomically sustainable. Nor are politicians more concerned with protecting their own careers than the wellbeing of those they were elected to serve (as demonstrated by the Post Office Scandal). That Government must therefore now be seen as an accountable & respected part of the same society it serves.
It therefore aims to drive both unity & accountability in government to heal our politically-disillusioned and divided society. To upscale its know-how to grow our economy to finance the informed development of efficient infrastructures, healthcare and other public services. A stable and capable government to re-establish credible defences to face-off huge threats in a world where nothing is anymore stable or simple.
To re-establish UK Democracy as a gold-standard for others to aspire to – so as to counter its erosion both globally and domestically. To maximise UK influence and of each individual citizen and to counter growing government adversity to free speech. Something we must now achieve for the Alpha Generation (those born post 2009) to maximise their chances of peace, wealth and opportunity where we will be able to strategically manage our public services domestically and our eco-systems globally.
Goals – Towards a Democratic Evolution
It therefore becomes necessary to identify the evolution we now need to put right those things that have gone wrong. To that end, Unified Democracy defines 4 key objectives.
1. Sound, properly informed policy. Putting right policy invented by a narrow elite purely for votes, with no clear strategy of how it would be delivered in practice. Then giving them carte-blanche to impose whatever (potentially harmful) policy they choose.
2. Strategic Continuity. Planning and managing our economy, infrastructures & public services to ensure their ongoing performance and sustainability. Putting right the waste and disruption of each administration reversing the policies of its predecessor – undermining confidence in our economy and businesses in planning to employ people.
3. Bandwidth & Sector Coordination. Effectively and concurrently managing all sectors of our complex, highly-integrated economy and to ensure policies in each are consistent with those in others. Putting right a perception of chaotic, dysfunctional government.
4 Properly-Aligned Immigration, Education & Welfare Policies. Ensuring our country has the necessary ongoing skills in each sector and maximising career potential. Putting right shortages in key skills and in socioeconomically damaging welfare-state policies and those making the UK the global destination of choice for mass migration.
Voting for The Unified Democracy Party
As is self-evident, the mission of our Party is purely in democratic and socioeconomic transformation – rather than in governing ourselves.
Therefore, should our Party be elected, our MPs will peer-elect Ministers to form a Government. We would then offer the posts of PM and Chancellor to the 2nd-placed Party, based on agreement of each other’s policies and objectives. Should it not be elected (but win a number of seats) we will have sown the seeds of the REAL Reform our country needs within Parliament – a platform to attract the MPs of other Parties.
Why Moving Forward Needs YOUR Support
